Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Breast Cancer Care will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

When we started out it was sunny. It took nine long hours to complete, six hours going up. Every half mile we had to rest for ten minutes but when we got to the foot of the summit it was very steep. We had to go for it because we could not stop. If we stopped there was a good chance we might have slipped backwards .Then it started to rain, hail stones very heavily. At this point we all thought, give it up now, however we carried on and got to the top. We didn’t hang around on the top because we were very wet, tired and the thought of getting back down was too much to think about. The team transformed the frame into a stretcher and carried me back down .There were some hair raising moments on the decent. It took three hours.

Looking back on it, it was an amazing achievement for us all. We raised about 3.000 .

I would like to thank the team, stena line and the CP Centre in . It wouldn’t have been possible with out them.

On the 24 July 2006 I will be facing the toughest challenge of my life so far. Having not attempted to walk since 1989 (I rely on an electric wheelchair due to my severe cerebral palsy) I am going to attempt to climb 2500 feet to the top of St. Patrick’s Mountain in Mayo, Ireland. The route is approximately four miles from the car park to the small chapel that is on the peak of the mountain.

To give myself a realistic chance of achieving this extreme challenge I have been training hard for the past twelve months and have been going to the Cerebral Palsy Physiotherapy centre in Bedford , for intense physiotherapy.

The biggest obstacle that my team of assistants and I will have to deal with will be the difficult and rough terrain. Our aim is for me to reach the peak using an assisted-walking technique. This involves me walking in a specially designed support frame as much as possible but will need to be lifted over some of the larger boulders and rocks as there is no proper path as such, but I will not be carried unnecessarily.

The task of getting me back down off the mountain will be left to my assistants.

For personal reasons I have chosen this opportunity to raise as much money as possible for breast cancer care.

So please sponsor us now!

Many thanks for your support.
