Avenue of Volcanoes · 29 November 2019

The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

In November 2019 myself and 20 colleagues are heading off to South America to climb 5 volcanoes in only 10 days! The Avenue of Volcanoes in Ecuador is a massive challenge including scaling 4 volcanoes all over 4,000m and ending on climbing Chimborazo the 5th volcano of the challenge. At 6,310m high Chimborazo is Ecuador's highest mountain and once at the top, is the furthest point you can be from the center of the earth whilst still being on the earth's surface.

A fantastic opportunity for those involved it is however for a great cause. All money raised by myself and my colleagues will go to the Princes Trust to support the great work the organisations does to help young people overcome their personal challenges and thrive. The charity focuses on two of the most pressing issues facing young people in the UK today, mental health and money matters.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated, not only for the opportunities it will give myself but also the support you will be providing for the Princes Trust and the opportunities it provides young people in the UK who need the charity's support.
