30 April update:
The 2006 London Marathon has come and gone now - many many thanks to everyone that sponsored me. As you can see I've raised well over my target amount for SANE.
I had a fantastic run, finishing 2875th (still behind the oldest man in the race, an 86-year-old!) in 3:17:07. I'm particularly pleased as this was over half an hour quicker than last year.If you want to see some more photos of the race, take a look at my website: http://www.tashaseb.co.uk/marathon.
Finally, this site will continue to accept donations for a couple of months, so if you haven't donated already or would like to top up your donation, please feel free. Read on if you need more convincing...
Mental illness is increasingly common, affecting 1 in 4 people at some point in their lives. It can devastate and even end lives - but it is little understood, and work to help those with mental health problems receives little publicity or funding.
SANE is one of the UK's leading mental health charities, raising awareness and campaigning on behalf of people with mental illness, undertaking research, and supporting those experiencing mental health problems, as well as their friends and families. Please see their website at http://www.sane.org.uk
Thanks very much, and here's a message from JustGiving:
"Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: SANE will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you."
