Seddon Group are The Christie’s corporate partner for their Sporting Events Programme during 2009 and 2010 and are also supporting research into the “Magic Bullet” treatment at The Christie.  The Group are giving £75,000 each year to The Christie and in addition to this they have pledged to match pound for pound any monies raised by it’s employees taking part in fund raising events which will hopefully provide a staggering amount of £125,000 each year being given to the charity.

The “Magic Bullet” is a pioneering cancer treatment which could replace chemotherapy for some cancer patients.  As well as being highly effective in destroying cancer cells, this revolutionary treatment is a quicker and easier treatment for patients.  Experts at The Christie have recently undertaken the first European trial and found remarkable results.

FUND RAISING TARGET OF £125,000 ACHIEVED FOR 2009  

We are pleased to report that thanks to your help  during 2009 we have smashed our massive fund raising target of £125,000 and raised £163,000 for the Magic Bullet treatment as part of our Seddon/Christie Partnership.

Well done to all participants and organisers, all your hard work and effort has paid off.  Give yourselves a big pat on the back!   Details of the events you have taken part in are below.

Here is an interesting summary of statistics relating to some of the events undertaken during 2009:- 

We swam 14 miles

We rowed 40 miles

We walked 300 miles

We ran 442 miles

We cycles 2418 miles

THE TOTAL MILEAGE BEING 3,214 WHCIH IS THE DISTANCE FROM LONDON TO NEW YORK!!!

We have more exiting events planned for 2010 to help us achieve our target of raising a further £125,000.
