Seeds Urgently Required
£10 to help a family to plant seeds.
As you may have heard in the news, the famine in Kenya is worsening and has recently been declared a ‘catastrophe’ by the UN World Food Programme with 3.5M people under threat of starvation. We need you to help the 864 families in the affected communities where we work. We have the opportunity to intervene and having seen the seriousness of the situation first-hand, I urge you to support us.
On my recent trip, Joshua and I secured 6 months funding for our Food for Work Programme. We have just heard that the rains have come at last and so it is also imperative that we immediately launch our Seed Bank Programme to provide farmers with seeds to plant, which will prevent famine and starvation when food relief ends. We intend to provide 864 families with 2 kg each of seven crop species – designed to fit climatic conditions and extend the harvesting period. We need your help to provide families with seeds to plant – £10 will enable a family to break out of the current cycle of food shortages.
Thanks
Simon Maddrell
