I am fundraising £5900 to teach english, maths and science in Guyana for 12 months with Project Trust. 

Before going to university I want to immerse myself in a new culture and way of life. To gain a new perspective on life and see new parts of the world. I will be living and teaching in '3 mile secondary school'. Which is (unsurprisingly) 3 miles from Bartica. 

I will be teaching 11 to 16 year olds, to prepare them for their CXC's. Which are the Caribbean equivalent to O levels. They are a challenging class to teach as they are from a mining community, so all they want to do is go and work in the mines. Therefore school is seen as a waste of time and enthusiasm is low.

However i cannot wait to go. I will bring as much enthusiasm and knowledge as i can. The people of Guyana are very hospitable and love to entertain new-comers such as me. I look forward to experiencing their way of living. Especially their food! |To return home as a independent well rounded person. 

The target of £5900 will cover everything for 12 months. The flights , insurance and a wage etc. I am also doing many events to fundraise this money. I am really excited and enthusiastic to go, and am extremely grateful for any donations sent my way!
