In the UK: Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. 36,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year. One man dies every hour of prostate cancer. The Prostate Cancer Charity is the UK’s leading charity working with people affected by prostate cancer. We fund research, provide support and information, and we campaign to improve the lives of men with prostate cancer. We provide the only UK-wide prostate cancer Helpline staffed by prostate cancer specialist nurses. Our nurses offer free and confidential information and support to anyone affected by prostate cancer. The Prostate Cancer Charity is working towards a world where lives are no longer limited by prostate cancer. The Charity is fighting prostate cancer on every front - through research, support, information and campaigning.

Employees of the Severfield-Rowen Group have experienced prostate cancer first hand or via work colleagues and family members.

To help continue the essential work of The Prostate Cancer Charity, on the 8th of May a team of 9 men and 1 woman who work for Severfield-Rowen, embarked on the 135 mile Coast to Coast cycle challenge. Setting out from Whitehaven on the west coast of England and reaching our final destination of Sunderland's Roker Pier on the east coast of England on Sunday 10th May. Over the same 3 days, 9 year old swimming buddies Luke Myers and Charlie Robson completed 50 lengths per day of Billinghams 33 meter swimming pool totalling 150 lengths (3 miles).
