The Big Swim · 31 January 2016 ·

One of the world’s leading conservation organisations - we work across Australia and around the world to protect important lands and waters for nature and people. We work to solve pressing conservation issues, through delivering large-scale projects with our scientific and collaborative approach.

Story

This summer, we will be swimming 3kms in "the" Big Swim (I've aged but I am as fearful of this challenge as I look in the photo). We are raising money to help TNC rebuild our reefs with nature's water filter (the oyster) creating more clean water and to boost fish numbers.

This is important work - globally, 85% of reefs have been lost, making shellfish reefs one of the most threatened marine habitats.

$25 could buy 3 dozen juvenile oysters to stock our reefs         $50 could buy 60 million oyster larvae to put back into our bays     $125 could provide 250 adult oysters per 1m2 of limestone shellfish reef

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT
