No words can explain how difficult, almost impossible a time this has been, not only has my true love and soulmate paid the ultimate sacrifice for the British Army, my children have lost their wonderful and doting father.
As a military family you give your life to your husbands career. You form friendships that are equal to family bonds. The army becomes your world. Since Simon has gone my world is falling from beneath my feet, everything will change.
After searching for help to find a way through this awful time, Forces Childrens Trust have provided a glimmer of light at the end of a very dark tunnel. To me there still seems to be a missing link between grieving families and a clear pathway to finding help and support.
I would love the oppourtunity to highlight this need and help other families in our situation, Forces Childrens Trust can do this but need more funding to be able to reach their full potential.
I know that Simon will be looking down, pleased with the fact that me, his wife can make a difference in his memory.
