My story

Please help us to raise funds for this 900 mile journey by ski across some of the world's most inhospitable terrain. The Expedition will last about 90 days in freezing conditions in the white desert of Antarctica. We will be totally self-sufficient, responsible for all our own decsions and route finding.

We will set out on October 29th, 2008 to follow in our ancestors' footsteps, and recreate Sir Ernest Shackleton's 1909 Nimrod Expedition, originally intended to be the first expedition to the South Pole.

The original team got to within ninety-seven miles of the Pole on January 9th, 2009 before being forced back: one hundred years later we hope to ski 900 miles across Antarctica to the same point and then continue onto the South Pole, and in so doing, finish the business our forefathers began.

Our efforts go towards establishing a new charity called The Shackleton Foundation.
