1 in 100 people have coeliac disease, yet only 36% are diagnosed. Coeliac UK empowers everyone affected, breaking down barriers, improving everyday life, offering trusted support and advancing research towards a cure. And we do it all so that one day, no one’s life will be limited by gluten.

(All proceeds go to the Coeliac Society)

Our daughter is two years old and has just been diagnosed with coeliac disease and already we realise the importance of the Coeliac Society.

Before our daughter was diagnosed with coeliac disease, the constancy of despair that we felt and the uncertainty that we faced, was so great. When a parent looks into their child’s eyes knowing that they do not know what else to do, this is a parent’s worst nightmare. Our visits to the doctor and hospital were at first proving to be unsuccessful leaving us faced with so many worrying thoughts as to what was wrong with our daughter. Her constantly being sick, her weakened state, and griping stomach cramps, her rapid loss of weight made us fear, as any parents would, the worst.

Since Shakiera has been diagnosed with coeliac disease she has improved rapidly and has regained her cheerful, cheeky, mischievous personality.

Without the help and advice of the Coeliac Society it would have been a difficult and painstaking search for specialised food that is essential for our daughter’s health and wellbeing.

The Coeliac Society is an invaluable source of assistance and knowing that such a society exists has brought peace to our minds.

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor Shakiera online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor Shakiera: Coeliac UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor Shakiera now!

Many thanks for your support.
