Skanda Vale Is a beautiful spiritual sanctuary near Camarthen Wales. Skanda Vale "The Community of  the Many Names of God" is a monastery that is self sufficient through donations from devoties and the public.  They are THE UK's largest contributor for the Feed the Children program donating to countries like Africa.

I got in contact with this haven through my husband who is very much part of the off campus community and I fell in love at first sight. The commitment and the depth of this organisation is beyond fathom. They are not just a temple but a community that is committed to help the needed in whatever way possible.

In 1993 the Vale Hospice Continuing Care Home Service was launched.
During the 10 years of its operation, over 200 families in the Carmarthen and Ceredigion district benefited from the kind of service that the public sector wasn’t able to provide. Our Home Care Team volunteered their time, warmth, friendship and practical personal care for the last few weeks of a patient’s life. The service offered 24-hour companionship and a hand to hold, allowing the patient to pass away with dignity in a safe, familiar and loving environment. The Home Care Service proved to be of huge benefit to family carers as well, relieving a great deal of the pressure and exhaustion precipitated by these traumatic events

In April 2004  this community put up the SKANDA VALE HOSPICE . This hospice runs completely on donations of the public and the good will of the volunteers that devote time and patients to help it grow. They cater to Day Patients who are terminally ill and are struggling with their diseases. Here at the centre they offer lymph oedema treatments, reflexology , massages and aromatherapy. Being at these centres the patients who are often anxious and distressed with regards to their terminal state are given spiritual as well as physical relieve  thus helping them understand and have inner strength to live on. We are now planning to expend and we need your help...

Being part of this organisation has helped me in many ways and I want to give something back ... So here I am ... I'm going to run the ASICS 10K  on July the 12 to raise funds for the hospice... My dear friends help support me and donate to my page. Every little counts and will make the world of difference to the HOSPICE....
