I DID IT - a very creditable 40 mins and 12 secs for a 5K run in Hyde Park this morning. I am amazed, overjoyed, exhilarated and tired. Much better time than I had anticipated. Privileged to be taking part with so many marvellous women running for so many worthy causes. An amazing experience. All those early mornings in the gym and runs along the canal - it paid off. Perhaps I can have a few lie ins now. My grateful thanks to all those who have encouraged and supported me along the way, with messages, money and so much more - I thank you so very much. Especial thanks to my Trainer Nina, who has inspired me to keep going when it all seemed impossible, and to my support team on the day - Julia, Angela, Alison & Duncan. Many of you will know that exercise and I have not exactly been bosom buddies over the years, so you will be equally astounded to hear that I am entered in a run on 16th September 2007. It may not be a marathon but it is still a major achievement for me. I have decided to put my effort to good cause and raise money for Ian's fund. Ian was a neighbour who died last year of a brain tumour. For more about Ian see http://www.justgiving.com/ianwiddupfund Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust (SDBTT) ( Ian's fund) will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
