The Afghanistan Trust gives assistance to soldiers of The 3rd Battalion The Parachute Regiment who were wounded in action, or the dependants of those killed in action in Afghanistan. It achieves this through financial and welfare support. It also sustains the memories of the loss of life and sacrifices made by the soldiers of The 3rd Battalion The Parachute Regiment in Afghanistan.

My story

Thanks for visiting my Afghan Trust fundraising page.

Against my better judgement I have as they say 'Offered' to risk life and limb by throwing myself out of a perfectly serviceable aircraft attached to a member of the Parachute Regiment Freefall Team on the 1st Sept 09.

Please read about the charity to the left on this page. The Trust has now opened up to help all Parachute Regiment Soldiers. Any proceeds I am able to raise will go to a worthy cause which is close to my heart.

A little about my tandem skydive

I will be jumping with a member of the Red Devils who are the finest Parachute display team in the world.

Once I arrive at the drop zone, I will meet the team and my personal instructor (God help him.) I will then receive a full safety brief, before kitting up and boarding the aircraft. A short flight follows, up to 12,000 feet, before exiting, for 45 seconds of freefall!!!

Once my instructor will deploy the parachute at around 6,000 feet where I am advised I will enjoy a breathtaking ride back to earth.
