Story

Hi There, Thanks for visiting my page today!

03/11/09....and only 3 weeks togo and I shall be on my way!!

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAVE HELPED TODATE, as you can see I have made the target. The curry night was  a great success.

The weather has changed and the training is a greater challenge, Val and I did almost 68/108km miles last week in wind rain and rainbows...............we survived, but were extremely wet.

I have lost 17lbs so far, so that little slinky dress for Christmas parties will finally get the outing from the wardrobe.

I am very excited to have the good fortune to be wearing Altura cycle wear on my trip!! picture soming soon!

Sept 28th update! Well guys I have just completed my first full training weekend, done approx 235km, and survived!!!!  I cycled from North Stainley Yorkshire to Nelson Lancashire, around the North yorkshire moors, some off roading, complete with head wind, WOW I am beginning to sound like a professional!! Thanks to my great cycling partners who either meet me part way or cycle with me all the way, brother John, (hope he has forgiven me!) Val, very brave lady doing great and Emma now off trekking to some strange place for 28days.And even managed the Edge Gym at 7.00am on a Monday for Paul to give me another gruelling hour!!

Curry night........ getting lots of interest have you got your ticket yet???

September update, I have just over 8 weeks to go, the fundraising is almost complete, A GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO YOU ALL who have contributed!

The Charity ball was a great success; Val my cycling partner who is also coming to India thoroughly enjoyed the dressing up in posh frocks dancing and champagne, but bets of all being with our friends and have fun!! Check out the photo’s www.joedodsworth.co.uk/crownhotelball

Training in going OK , Cycling partner Val has had a hiccup as she was rushed into hospital a week after the Ball with gall stone problems, Val has a fantastic spirit, I am sure wild horses would not stop her coming to India, besides we have both sooooo hard.

Val’s Charity is Yorkshire Air Ambulance you can se her progress at  www.justgiving.com/val-evans

Next Exciting event! I hope to meet Geri Helliwell in London on the 06/10, Diamon’T have designed a sparkle Breast cancer care T shirt and Geri is going to sign it for us, we will then auction the T shirts to raise more money as it is the month of PINK Breast Cancer Awareness!! Look out for the T shirts on www.diamon-t.com

Followed by an obligatory Curry night at our local, very posh new North Stainley village hall couldn’t go to India without some curry eating training as well!! This take place on the 10/10/09, tickets are £5.00 for adults, £3.00 for children above 5 yrs. Ticket deadline by 06/10/10!!!

Read on to see what I will be doing!..........................

I will be cycling on my mountain bike 480km around India in November this year for charity

WOW!! As you can see from this picture I am the real action girl!!

Well not quite yet…. this was staged, although I did cycle through the ‘puddle’ several times and got very wet!!

But those thighs are real!! And the enthusiasm is abundant! Over weight and over stressed, this is going to be the best physical challenge I have ever done and I am aiming high for fantastic all round results (and I might get the added bonus of thigh reduction).

I am doing this to remind myself and others, of all the amazing courage breast cancer patients, friends and family show us day to day, as they live their live’s, to celebrate their positive attitudes and sheer determination to live life to the full. A great motivator for myself!
