Cross Channel Row · 27 June 2008

Canterbury Cathedral has stood for 1400 years and is special to people across the world. Your support will enable us to: protect the awe-inspiring architecture; conserve the dazzling stained glass; develop our world-class music; and engage and educate visitors.

Story

Cross Channel row successfully completed yesterday (July 13th) in 4 hours & 49 minutes - thanks to all my sponsors.

Following my 1100 mile cycle ride to Rome last year a number of the riders decided that a shorter quicker challenge was in order this year! A 26 mile row across the English Channel and the busiest shipping lane in the world. I will be rowing in a team of six plus cox in a Thames Cutter which has crossed the channel  before - so we know it can be done!

We plan to leave Dover on the weekend of the 12/13th July and arrive in France some 6 hours later. We will be escorted by two safety boats and six kayakers who are also making the trip.
Each participant is covering their own costs for the trip so all sponsorship raised will go directly to the charities.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Save Canterbury Cathedral gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your generous support,
