Anthony Nolan sponsored distance walk
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Some of you will know that back in 2006 I was very ill with leukaemia. I was lucky to be given a life-saving bone-marrow transplant with the help of Anthony Nolan , a hard-working and effective charity that saves the lives of people with blood cancer who need a blood stem cell, or bone marrow transplant. You can learn more about the charity from their web-site on www.anthonynolan.org
This year I met my donor Mark Quinn for the first time and together we have decided to raise money for Anthony Nolan walking towards each other, each doing a 50 mile distance walk over three days, from 29th-31st October, finally meeting up at the Wallace Monument in Stirling.
Those of you who know me will be aware how fortunate I was in finding a donor and also in making such a remarkable recovery. I am so thankful to Anthony Nolan and of course to my donor Mark who had joined the register. The work of the charity is very important in saving the lives of cancer sufferers so please give if you can - and if you are between the age of 18-40 then join the Anthony Nolan register. A simple saliva test is all that is needed!
If you would like to know more of my story there is more on facebook!
