Story
The Sheffield Fans Derby was originally set up in early 2008 to support the charity Sport Relief. It proved so succesful that a second game was staged to support Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice. It has now developed into a twice a year event to support local charities. The event is played between Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday fans. The players are sponsored to play in the 90 minute game and this money then goes to the chosen charity.
The latest event is to raise funds for Cavendish Cancer Care.
The event is taking pace on Saturday 16th May 2009 at the Sheffield United Academy kicking off at 3:00pm, for more details on this go to www.sheffieldfansderby.co.uk
If you are sponsoring a player participating in the event then please put "Sponsorship for (the players name)” in the comments box. If you have been selected to play and are paying your players registration fee then put "Players fee for (your name) in the comments box.
