On May 21st 2008 I am setting off from Rugby to cycle to John O'Groats. It will take 13 days and I hope to cover 681 miles, depending on how often I get lost! My average daily mileage will be 52 miles. I am going through the Peak District, South and North Yorkshire, Northumberland to Edinburgh, through the Highlands, past Aviemore, to Inverness, then north a bit more, turn right at the sea and keep going to John O'Groats. I will be carrying all my own gear and have some companions with me for parts of the journey. I am doing this in aid of Rugby Youth For Christ. All the donations will go to our local branch. Iain Bruce and his team (many are unpaid volunteers) work in 6 secondary schools, 20 primary schools, deliver up to 82 life skills lessons a month, plus they take assemblies, run 4 weekly after school clubs and 1 monthly youth event. They also run activities in the summer holidays. They connect with 7000 young people in a an average month! Please dig deep and sponsor me to support them, especially if you live in Rugby or if you care about young people who often get into trouble simply because they have nothing to do, no direction and no hope. Just giving is a brilliant and safe way to donate. Plus if you are a UK tax payer they can claim the tax back adding alot of extra dosh to your donation at no cost to you. Thanks very much for your support, Sheila Bridge
