Connect is a national charity for people living with aphasia (communication disability) which is often caused by stroke. Aphasia can strike anyone at any age and at any time. 1 in every 200 people in the UK lives with aphasia and each person experiences it differently. Some people cannot speak at all, some people have just a few words. It affects reading, writing and numbers. Aphasia can lead to lack of confidence, depression, social exclusion – and people can lose their connection with the world. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Our vision is a simple one, we want a world where people with aphasia can re-connect with life again. Find out more about how we do that at www.ukconnect.org

Story

I did it !

It was tough, but then I didn't expect it to be easy.  A big thank you to everyone who turned out to cheer me on and for all your encouragement throughout the weeks and months of training.  I also want to thank you for sponsoring me in support of Connect, the communication disability network and helping them carry on the fantastic work they do with people living with aphasia
