Story

WE ALL HAVE OUR MOUNTAINS TO CLIMB

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I am really privileged to have been chosen to be part of the team of a team of nine disabled and nine non-disabled adults climbing Mount Kilimanjaro over a 12 day period in July 2008. I am buddied with Alex Adams and we will climb the mountain together as a team.

It’s going to be hard work, but amazing as I undertake the biggest physical challenge of my life to reach the summit, but with my determination and the support of a fantastic group of people I can’t wait to start

Why Kilimanjaro? Kilimanjaro is the highest freestanding mountain in the world.

Who is leading the expedition? Steven Ballantyne, Explorer and Expedition leader will personally lead the expedition on behalf of Enham and we will be supported by guide staff from Alpine Ascents, a highly recommended and experienced trekking company.

Why are we doing it? Disability charity Enham who needs to raise £1.2m for purpose built accommodation for residential trainees and we really want this climb to make a difference to that Appeal.  Many of the disabled adults on this expedition reside at Enham and really want to give something back to an organisation that has helped them to reshape their lives.

How do you help? By donating through this site.  It’s simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Enham will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.  In fact that money comes from the Government and that doesn’t happen every day!

So please sponsor me now.  Thank you so much

Sheila
