Woohoo, this year my official time is 01:05:29 position 3643 out of 11000!! So, only 3630 people or so passed me seeing as I started at the front!! That's a full 9 mins off my time. Here's to next year. Thanks to you all for sponsoring me. For those who haven't managed to sponsor me yet the page is live until 31st October so please feel free to dig deep ;-)
Why am I doing this at my age? Because my partner of 26 years has Parkinson's Disease and you never know what is around the corner.
My pledge to J, my partner - to beat my time for last year (1hr 14m & 30s), even if by only a few seconds without breaking my knees! and to do as much fundraising as I possibly can starting with the 10k Jane Tomlinson's Run for All race.
So, now you know my pledge, all I need to know now is what your pledge is. Training is going well this year (just done 26m & 26s 5k June 7th) especially since I am 3 stones lighter than last year. If you are passing through our area you will see me on Saturday mornings jogging/running/walking my usual six and a half miles listening to Sounds of the Sixties on my radio. I know, how cool am I!?
I am working out so hard in order to be as fit as possible for race day. Why don't you match me and give your credit card a good work out by sponsoring me online. If you don't want to sponsor me online you can let me know your pledge and I will pop it onto a sponsor form.
The Parkinson's Disease Society (which is entirely self-funding BTW!!) will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Oh what the hell just give me the money!
Thank you, muchos gracias, merci, danke ad infinitum.
Shelley
