Story

Two years ago 11 Riggers, I unit Manager, 1 Camera Supervisor, 2 Police Officers and a Lawyer walked from Glasgow to the summit of Ben Nevis in the worst weather since 1963. With your incredible support we were able to raise £24,000 for Help 4 Heroes.

It broke a few of us, tried to kill one of us and now its time to embrace the next challenge.

So, on the 15th of January 2013 9 Riggers, 1 Unit Manager, 2 Camera Supervisors, 2 Police Officers and the same Lawyer will attempt to walk the 149 miles between two of the most Iconic ships in our maritime History; the SS Gt Britain lying in Bristol Docks and HMS Belfast moored in the Port of London. Averaging 24-28 miles a day, this is going to be tough, especially in January!

This time, with your help we are supporting three charities, BLESMA, the Limbless ex-sevicemens charity, who every day help the brave men and women of our armed forces realise that there is life after amputation.  Diabetes UK, a charity that pioneers ground-breaking research, offering support and relief to those who suffer from this life changing condition. Carver Barracks Injured Soldiers Charity Fund is a trustee managed non-profit fund set up by 33 and 101 Engineer Regiments (EOD) as a direct result of casualties occuring in Afganistan, it works at a local level alongside existing armed forces Charities to bring immediate help and relief to the casualty and their family..

BLESMA have very kindly agreed to split all donations received via this site with the Carver Barracks Fund.

Please look at our other Justgiving page for Diabetes UK at www.justgiving.com/ship2shipA and if you feel able, contribute to that also. We hope to raise equal amounts for both Civil and Military causes.

If you would like to keep us company, raise even more funds and join us walking for a day please contact us at bill@ctvob.co.uk for a sponsorship/ pledge form, we would love to see you at some point along the route.

Thank you so much for your past,  present and future support, and keep watching this page for daily updates as we prepare for the walk.

With Many Thanks
