Neil, Claire, Phil and I are running the Reading half marathon for one simple reason. We want to pay for a child to go on this special holiday.
We all see first hand how life changing Dreamflight can be. Whether the children have been nominated because without the huge support team Dreamflight provides, their disability prevents them from making the journey and enjoying the theme parks. Or perhaps they deserve some fun after spending years of their childhood making hospital visits, in treatment or having surgery. Missing out on school trips or sports days. This is their passport to adventure.
Through fun and laughter comes acceptance, friendships and Independence.
What is Dreamflight?
Every October Dreamflight sends a British Airways 747 aircraft with 192 children and their adult escorts to Florida. as you can imagine, the costs are enormous and rising. All of the medical team and escorts volunteer their time but this year the trip will still cost in excess of £650,000 or £3,500 per child.
We all feel very proud to be involved in this wonderful charity, and this run is pushing us to our limits! So all we are asking is that instead of calling into a luxury coffee shop this week - consider sending the equivalent to us instead!
