Story
Just over a decade ago, I ran a marathon, crossed the finish line and collapsed. I woke up a couple of days later in hospital and swore never to run that far again.
Three and a half years ago, my Mum Kathy was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She'd been a nurse for 40 years and when we couldn't care for her, nurses came to our home.
She died a month later and every year since, I've paid Macmillan back, so someone else can benefit, like my Mum did. This year, I'm asking for your help to give a bit more. I'm running the London marathon and this time, I'll do it right and I'll do it for her.
It costs £20 an hour for a Macmillan nurse but the support they give to people facing the end of their life, is priceless. A donation will support someone - and their families - suffering pain and grief. Your help will make an enormous difference. Thank you. Sian
