Personal message:

I am hoping to climb Kilimanjaro in March this year, and considering my extensive  (read "zero") climbing experience this should be a leisurely stroll in the park. I have paid for the trip but would like to raise some money for a wonderful charity - Tools for Self Reliance which runs various projects in African aimed at helping people develop businesses and skills.

The climb

We will be walking over 7 days to reach the summit, which is at 5895m. I promise not to wash or to shave and be one with the mountain!

Charity

This climb was originally intended as an attempt by me to escape my desk at work, but I feel an obligation to see if it can benefit some more people.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Tools For Self Reliance will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
