Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Jack's Place

Medical advances mean that many of the youngsters, with life-limiting ilnesses, who have grown up using Naomi House, are now enjoying life into early adulthood. As they grow older and their conditions become more complex and challenging, their need for care changes; nursing often becomes more intensive and the equipment required, larger and more sophisticated.

Jacksplace will be used by young people with conditions such as Duchenne's muscular dystrophy, cancer, cystic fibrosis, cerebral palsy and metabolic and neurodegenerative disorders.

Hospice for Young People

Extending the services by providing a hospice exclusively for young people has been top of the Naomi House wish list for several years. While many young people have outgrown our facilities, an adult environment is equally unsuited to their needs. At the moment, however there is, quite literally nowhere else for them to go in our region.

Help me raise £1,000 to secured Jack's Place

I'm raising £1,000 to buy a door for one of the rooms at Jack's Place

£1,000 is a lot of money - but it's not just any door - it's special!

The door will continue the idea that Jack's Place will give our teenagers and young adults a greater degree of independence as they will be wider than regular doors for easy wheelchair access and they will open automatically so the youngsters do not have to rely on having a carer there to open it for them.

How great is that?

This door will give these teenagers freedom to move around Jack's Place - to go where they please, to see their friends, to just pop out into the garden and breathe in the fresh air - just like you and I can whenever we want.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Naomi House Children's Hospice (Wessex Children's Hospice Trust) gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now! I'm training really hard!
