We protect and support children and young people, providing practical and emotional care and support. We ensure their voices are heard, and campaign to bring lasting improvements to their lives. Our vision is that every child and young person has a safe and happy childhood, and the foundations they need to thrive.

Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

We are a group of IT Directors and CIOs who provide our opinions from time to time as the Silicon.com CIO Jury.

It is our unanimous opinion that you should sponsor our effort to support Byte Night, the IT Industries annual fundraising event, sleeping rough in London for the night on October 3rd in aid of Action For Children, the childrens charity.

We made it!
We were fortunate:
  • It didn't rain.
  • It was the coldest night of the autumn, but there were hot drinks available through the night.
  • We were able to raise enough money, so far, to keep 19 young homeless people in supported lodgings for a month.
  • We found out about the great work that Action for Children does to support and speak out for the most vulnerable children and young people in the UK.

We are:

Graham Benson, IT director, MandMDirect.com

Nic Evans, European IT Director, Key Equipment Finance (his Googlepage)

Richard Steel, CIO, London Borough of Newham (his blog)

Steve Clarke, Director, Systems and Operations, AOL Broadband
