Dear All
This might not come as a surprise to those who know us. We have decided to leave it all behind, go and do something we believe is worth it.
I am Rabih Khoury. My wife, Susanne and I plan a one-year journey, involving treks and a project around the world following the Silk Road, to raise money for the Progresssive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) Association. This Association funds research against a terrible degenerative brain disease also called Steele Richardson. My mother was diagnosised with the PSP few years ago. We are doing this in her memory. For more information about this disease, please visit www.pspeur.org.
We plan to start off from Paris in May 2006. Our planned route will take us from Europe, to the Middle East & Central Asia all the way to South America. In all, we will cover some 34,000 miles, many overland.
Overnight, we favour helping the local communities sleeping at people’s places. Since my mother was a passionate professor, we have also decided to report on the youth we meet at schools & universities - the reality of their education and experiences, as well as their hopes, fears and aspirations. We plan to trek and use local transport quite extensively, as well as travelling by foot, by boat, on horseback, by bus or truck etc.
Donating through this site is also the most efficient way to sponsor The PSP Association. The Association will receive your contribution directly.
So please help us give The PSP Association the means to win this battle.
Help them give hope.
Many thanks for your support.
Susanne & Rabih
