On Friday 12th June 2009, Silver Lady was put to sleep.
Those who knew Lady were aware that she had constant trouble with her front feet. To help ease her problems, she used to wear special plastic shoes, but sadly even these couldn't help any more.
Since July 2008, both Lady and her best friend, Little Pippa, have lived on the Main Yard at The Donkey Sanctuary and met many visitors. She will be missed by them and the staff.
To help raise funds for The Donkey Sanctuary, my wish would be to raise money to help other donkeys just like Lady. She had a new set of plastic shoes put on every four weeks which cost in the region of £500 a year.
If I could just raise that amount and for one other donkey, my wish would be fulfiled.
