Island peak Nepal and other events · 25 October 2013

A helping hand for childen and adults affected by life-limiting, life-changing conditions or trauma to gain empowerment through snow-sports and other mountain activities – inclusive & accessible magic moments of togetherness with family or friends away from the challenges of day-to-day life.

Story

Ever taken a sport or activity for granted? The people ski2freedom support find it it logistically difficult to ever undertake such activities. Ski2freedom can help make this happen for the disabled and in turn develop that disabled person. One example of a likely recipient of technical support is a 13 year old young lady with an undiagnosed condition leaving her with a mental age of around a 2 year old. This special family also adopted 2 further children! Without the support of ski2freedom, what many of us take for granted could never happen. This is just one family example that we wish to help achieve the impossible.

Andrea and I are looking to visit Everest base camp and then climb Island peak (6189m or 20,305ft) Oxygen levels will fall to 37% of those at sea level! This challenge is self funded and not a standard charity trek! All donations go to the charity!

My colleagues at RBS are also helping out which means we can get community cashback matching upto £250 per supporting colleague. (support from Russell Grazier, Kevin Tokell, Jackie Brooks, Gordon Iddon, Paul Wheelwright, Leigh Cathcart, Joanne Hills, Joshua Norman, Sonia White & Jackie Ogilvie)

Thanks to www.mauijim.com www.mountain-equipment.co.uk & www.e-boreal.com for their support
