As the leading Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) charity in the UK, we want to find effective treatments for DMD and end its devastating impact.
We’re going further than anyone has before, and we’re doing it faster, because this generation of people living with DMD can’t wait.
Story
I’m cycling in the Duchenne Dash, a
gruelling 200 mile, 24 hour bike ride from London to Paris. Media rivals
and friends take on this daunting challenge in aid of the Duchenne
Children's Trust. We’re riding to raise funds to enable dedicated
scientists to continue research with one goal- a treatment to cure Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy within
10 years. This rare muscle wasting disease leads to certain paralysis
and death in teenage boys. It is the most common genetic killer of
children. Newsreaders and
executives from Channel 4, ITN, ITV and Sky News have set aside their
rivalries. Google will ride with Twitter, comedians will ride with TV
bosses and spin doctors with journalists. We need your support.
