Thanks for taking the time to visit my Everest JustGiving page. I am so grateful to all those of you who have supported this campaign so far and hope that you will continue to do so as the many personal challenges that people have started on will continue through the rest of this year.

I left to attempt to climb to the summit at the beginning of April and as this has been my lifetime's biggest mountaineering challenge I've dedicated the expedition to raising funds for two great causes: Age UK and St Michael's Primary School.

I also want everyone to join in with "my Everest" which is a campaign for everyone and whether you are supporting a local "my Everest" challenge, or my own attempt on the mountain itself, Age UK, St Michaels Primary School and I are very grateful for your support.

Age UK campaigns for, and supports services to, all older people here in Britain and overseas. In particular they wish to promote health and wellbeing as we all age and I want to show that age is no barrier to our greatest ambitions.

I believe that I was the second British over 60 to attempt to summit and the first to try by the technically more interesting North Ridge. Although I didn't reach the summit on this occasion, after two months spent above 5000m., one of them above 6,000m., and having climbed and slept above 7000m. three times, I belive that I can say I gave it a pretty good try.

This challenge was awesome and I'd been training for it for over a year and planning it for a lot longer.  You can learn more about my dream and ambitions, together with the slightly surreal crevasse training in the Wiltshire countryside, by viewing the video at the link under my photos on the left.

Please help as much as you can - and if you can organise your own "my Everest" challenge, let me know. You can contact me and follow progress through www.myeverest.org.uk
