Running isn't really my thing. Playing football is.                              

But Sarah has been a keen runner for a long time now, and has completed the Great North Run, as well as the Manchester BUPA Run previously.

And she's made me interested.

Over the last 6 months I've been running with Sarah, helping set pace.  Although I can't honestly say I like running personally, I can see the appeal. I'm liking the challenge of seeing if I can complete the run.  And the prospect of hopefully raising some money for MIND - my chosen beneficiary -  is great.

I'm a mental health social worker by training.  Members of my family have been affected by mental health problems. I've had my moments myself.  Who hasn't?  I can't see services for people with mental health problems suffering anything but chronic disinvestment from the current unfair and equality-smashing government, so charities like MIND need all the financial help they can get in my view.
