PACE to Edinburgh team cycle challenge · 16 June 2009 ·

We want every child in the UK with a neurodisability like cerebral palsy - and their families - to have access to learning and life changing therapy, aligned with our Pace approach. Our specialist clinical, education and therapy teams work with babies, children & young people from 0-18.

Story

21 June 2009 UPDATE:

Ride complete.  Route was tougher than expected, rain showers and head winds hit us hard, but we all reached our goal; Edinburgh Castle at 5pm on Saturday 20 June elated.  Thanks for your support and please help me reach my target so my aching back and sore legs are not in vain!

Not content with braving the wild winds and lashing rain of Ireland in 2008. This time, I along with 24 other riders are going to ride nearly 500 miles North from PACE (Aylesbury) to Edinburgh.  A route that takes us over the Chilterns, round the Humber ,across the North York Moors and finally through the Northumberland National Park into Scotland.  We finish, to add to our pain on the cobbles of the Royal Mile at Edinburgh Castle.

You may have heard that my left knee has decided to give me great pain and at more than one point I have seriously thought I will have to give up cycling like this altogether, however I will not be beaten and surely even more pain is worth a few extra quid to benefit children who struggle against challenges of all types every single day!

So thank you for visiting my fundraising page.  We are aiming to raise at least £30,000 and preferrably £40,000 for essential commuication aids for children with cerebral palsy at the PACE Centre, please view the very short video featuring a young chap called Jason using a really cool piece of technology called the 'eyegaze' communicator.  This computer has given Jason a voice, as he has no use of his own, he has much he wants to say!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The PACE Centre gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
