My story

 

Well, we did it! no tan lines, no blisters, many midgeee bites and thorn scratches and loads of stories to tell and photos to share. It really was amazing and for a fantastic cause. Oh yes, and in Cuban kilometers we did about 105, they kept adding bits on for interesting things to see so you all really did get your money's worth.

We're grateful to the enthusiastic charity mugger who pointed us in the direction of the great work that Mind does. Do you realise that mental health issues affect one in four of us? And Mind works to help families and sufferers through some very difficult times. There is still such a lack of understanding of mental distress in this country and for something which affects so many people, it's high time that people's understanding is heightened and their fear of the unknown entity of mental health is decreased.

Just because you can't always 'see' mental illness does not mean that it does not have a debilitating and heart-wrenching effect on sufferers and their families. We are so grateful to all of you who have sponsored us so far, your support really is making a difference. We would also both ask other visitors of this page to please think about sponsoring us as we trek through the mountains and foothills of Cuba for five days, camping out in the rough and fending off the midgies! It's gonna be one heck of a challenge for the both of us, so please please help to make it that bit more worthwhile by digging deep and sponsoring us whatever you can afford.
