As a lot of you will already know I am attempting to run my first marathon! After years of thinking about it I made a silly decision and signed up for the Abingdon Marathon!! So now there is no way out of it, and in just a few weeks time on 19th October 2008 I'll be running 26.2 miles.
I have been training hard for months now and currently running about 20 miles a week. I have already worn out one pair of trainers and can't remember the last time my legs were not aching!
As well as completing my own ambition to run a marathon I am also hoping to raise money for Willen Hospice. Willen Hospice is a small local charity who provide specialist care for adults from Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas who have cancer or other life limiting illness. They are a registered charity and provide their service without cost to the patients or their families. Me and my family have seen what a difference Willen Hospice can make when they looked after my Nan several years ago when she was fighting cancer.
