As the picture may suggest, training for the London Marathon has not exactly gone to plan.

So if you have come to this page after an email urging sponsorship please be aware that the goalposts have moved just a little since I sent it.

Ok, quite a lot.

After an unfortunate rugby incident, I'm no longer going to be able to take part in the event.

I am so sorry - especially to those who have already given so generously - helping me reach a third of my fundraising target in just a fortnight. I will contact you all very soon.

And thanks also for the many pledges and expressions of admiration - okay, astonishment/scepticism.

They meant a lot.
