My story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Walton Neuroscience Fund gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

Simon is now staring down the barrel of a new superhuman challenge.  He casually calls it ‘le Jog’ and its 1,040 miles. Simon will take 12 weeks, averaging around 10 miles a day, to run from Lands End to John O’Groats throughout the summer months of 2009, in the name of Walton’s NO LIMITS and keep his focus 100% honed.

The ‘Face’ of the Walton Centre’s NO LIMITS Charity

When people like Nicole Kidman or George Clooney become ‘the face of’ whatever perfume or drinks brand, its big news and big money.  For the Walton Centre, having Simon Lannon agree to become ‘the face of’ its NO LIMITS charity is a huge privilege and something that will resonate with the hospital’s supporters and the communities it serves.

Simon is someone who’s seen his life changed by the skill and dedication of Walton’s specialist surgeons and nurses.  For him it didn’t stop there; he went on to make some radical changes of his own.

Just a few months on after his phenomenal triathlon performance the 29 year old, who has had 29 lifesaving brain operations, is now staring down the barrel of a new superhuman challenge.

He may be the face of the Centre’s charity, but there are three faces to Simon Lannon.  One is the successful design architectural technician who has built his own business from scratch, the second is the wholly focused athlete and the third is the philanthropist and professional motivator who’s turning his own talent for success into a platform for achievement for others.

Now with a girlfriend he clearly adores to add her support, Simon will go into overdrive in 2009.

“I’m hoping Hannah will be able to come to some stages of the run, and I’m actively searching for corporate sponsors and help with route planning,” says Simon.

“I’m lucky in that Executive Fitness Clinics inLiverpoolhas given me a complimentary membership and have agreed to provide me with support, but we need a support vehicle and much more too.  I’ll be putting my business on hold for 12 weeks to do this, it’s got to be made to count.”

Simon’s new website, www.simonlannon.com is up and running and setting up this ‘just giving’ donations portal, means sponsoring his heroic effort couldn’t be any simpler.

And all of these experiences that test his spirit, resolve and stamina to the limit, and beyond, are valuable resource for his motivational speaking career which sees him address corporate and charity audiences alike.

Just last year (08) Simon was a regional judge for The Lionheart Challenge, an entrepreneurial challenge for schools and there’s nothing he likes better than seeing youngsters focused on success.

“I have a passion for helping people get to where they want to be.  My performance coaching spans professional, fund raising and sporting success and I think the principles of attaining the goals we set ourselves are the same, whatever sphere.  I guess that, with the motivational speaking, it’s just something I love.  I get a real buzz out of making an emotional connection with people, and seeing them take it and use it.  It goes without saying that I’m delighted to be chosen to front Walton’s fund raising efforts.”

"I am looking forward to the fantastic challange that is ahead of me, but i will prove that with focus, determination and the right mental attitude anyone can acomplish their goals"
