Comrades Marathon 2009 · 24 May 2009 ·

Sense is here to support disabled people from the first weeks of life through all the major milestones of adulthood. Over 70 years, we’ve built extensive knowledge and expertise in supporting disabled people with complex needs, including deafblind people.

Story

Hi Everyone.

After two years of training, five pairs of running shoes and three marathons in April, I think that I am now ready to try to complete The Comrades ultra marathon on Sunday 24th May. The run starts from Pietermaritzburg in South Africa at 05.30am and ends 56 miles later in Durban. The time limit is 12 hours, otherwise you are disqualified! More information is available at  www.comrades.com

My chosen charity is Sense, and all of the money raised will go towards helping deafblind children. www.sense.org.uk

If you or your company would like to sponsor me, I would be very grateful for any donations to this charity.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Sense receives your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Many thanks for your support, I will be in touch again once I have returned and recovered!
