London Marathon 2007 · 22 April 2007 ·

At Salisbury Hospice, we understand the profound impact of a progressive, life-limiting illness—not only for those diagnosed but for their families and loved ones. We offer our patients compassionate, palliative and end of life care, providing comfort, and guidance at every step.

Story

I completed the London Marathon in 3 hrs 31 mins.  Although I wanted to go slightly faster and was set for a quicker time with a only a few miles to go, it was very, very hot and after my legs cramped up, they refused to go any quicker!  It was still a half-hour improvement on my last time in 2003 and I was just very happy to finish in the end.  The support I received before, during and after the race was phenomenal.  The route was about 4 people deep throughout and the noise they made was incredible.

Thank you so much for sponsoring me, with your support we have already raised around £950 for the Salisbury Hospice and the money is still coming in.  I and the Hospice are very grateful for your support and the money will be put to good use allowing the Hospice to provide vital palliative care services to people in the Salisbury area.

And don't worry, although I enjoyed the whole experience, I won't be doing it again next year!

Many thanks again for your support,

Simon
