Last years Marathon was a great success in terms of money raised for Marie Curie - £3,700 including £1,000 donated by my club, Tiptree Road Runners as their chosen charity for 2009. This fundraising took great effort and both Abigail and I are very grateful to everyone who gave generously in memory of our dear Malvina, who we all miss so very much.

My aim for this year is to complete the Marathon in under 3hrs 15 mins and qualify for the following year. However, at the same time I would like to raise at least £1,300 taking the overall total raised to £5,000. I would also like to thank my 2nd claim club, East London Runners for their Marathon place.
