Hi Guys BRIDGE2AID AND THE YORKSHIRE THREE PEAKS MAY 2008 After the rigours of Kilimanjaro last year, this may seem somewhat tame but knowing how you love to sponsor my suffering in order to enhance the fantastic work that Bridge2Aid are doing in Tanzania, I have decided to get out the walking boots again. The aim of the Yorkshire Three Peaks is to climb three substantial hills in the Yorkshire Dales in a circuit measuring 24 miles in a 12 hour period. Unlike the Great Britain Three Peaks, where the biggest challenge is trying to stay awake whilst driving between and climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales, we will be walking the entire route. The Kilimanjaro climb raised a total of around £70,000 and that money has gone to enhance the Bukumbi Care Centre and the community development in the region. What is need now are funds to set up programmes for Clinical Officers, local Tanzanian health workers who can be trained to provide care and facilities within their own communities and reduce the dependency mentality and reliance on external agencies. This, Bridge2Aid believes is more valuable than simply pouring aid into a region without a long term aim of self-sufficiency. If you are willing to contribute any amount, no matter how small it will go to a very worthy cause and I will drag myself up and down hill and vale in the hope that by doing so, the fantastic work that Bridge2Aid do will be enhanced. Thank you. Simon Contribution cheques can be sent made out to Bridge2Aid and I will forward them or you can donate on-line
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Bridge2aid will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
