SIMON TRICKETT is raising money for Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice
In memory of Rachel Trickett

At Bluebell Wood, we care for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions. We support hundreds of families, both in our hospice and in family homes. It costs around £6.7m to keep our doors open for families across South Yorkshire and beyond. We receive 17% Statutory funding.

Story

Rachel, my sister, would have been 40 this July.  She died at the age of 24 in St. Luke's Hospice,Sheffield, in 1993.  My mum and I have decided to take part in the Steel City Midnight Walk to raise money for the Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice and to ‘celebrate’ Rachel's special day.

The walk is between the city’s two football grounds.  We have opted to walk from Sheffield Wednesday's ground to the other one and back again to the splendour of Hillsborough.  It is only 10km ….. hardly much of a challenge you might think.  But given that my mum has had a recent knee replacement and a second one is imminent, I may be called in for piggy back duties!

I would be extremely grateful if you could sponsor me – any amount will be appreciated by Bluebell Wood.  Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure.  Bluebell Wood will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure that 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, will be added to your donation.

Thank you for your support.
