We raise funds to fight breast cervical and ovarian cancer

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

In October 2013 we lost our beautiful and brave friend Lisa to Cervical Cancer. Lisa showed amazing courage, strength and positivity in the face of the most difficult times and her love for those around her never faultered. I am honoured to have met Lisa and am amazingly proud to call myself Lisa's friend.

The Women Vs Cancer ride is 100km (62 miles) through the night, around London. Laura and I have barely been on a bike since we were children and are certainly not keen cyclists -- so this is quite the challenge for us, but a challenge that we are determined to complete becuase of the amazing work these charities do and the value of raising awareness.

And so Laura and I race for Lisa and for all of those we have lost, for those that continue to battle and for those who will face the battle in the future.

About the charity

Women v Cancer is a series of Women only cycle challenges in aid of three British charities – Breast Cancer Care, (RCN:1017658), Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust (RCN:113354/SCO41236) and Ovarian Cancer Action (RCN:1109743) – raising vital funds to fight breast, cervical and ovarian cancers. The donations you make to Women v Cancer will be distributed equally between them. The cycle challenges are organised and managed by Dream Challenges – www.dream-challenges.com. Women v Cancer is established under GivingWorks, a charitable trust registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales and under number 1078770. The funds raised here are restricted to use for the Women v Cancer purpose and will not be used by GivingWorks for any other purpose or as part of GivingWorks’ general unrestricted funds.
