Sheffield Half Marathon 2009 · 26 April 2009 ·

We help Sheffield’s hospitals, community teams, mental health and specialist services to cover costs their NHS budgets can’t. We fund support for patients and staff, life-changing research and more, so that we can enhance care from birth to the end of life and everything in between.

Story

We have decided to run the Sheffield Half Marathon this year and would love you to sponsor us. The money raise will go to the Neonatal Unit at Jessops Hospital in Sheffield.

The neonatal unit provides expert, around the clock care for new born babies who are ill or born prematurely. Between six and ten per cent of newborns spend some time here. Still, most parents do not expect to find their baby in the neonatal unit, and it comes as a real shock. I'm sure units like this have touched everybody's life in some way or will do in the future and sponsoring us will be a great way to help the teeny tiny people we will know and love!!
