The Northumbria Coastal Challenge · 2 May 2016

Myeloma UK is the only organisation in the UK dealing exclusively with myeloma. We provide information and support to patients and their families and help myeloma patients live longer, with a better quality of life by accelerating the discovery, development of and access to new treatments.

Story

Last year I raised over £4k for Myeloma UK by completing the 22 mile Nidderdale Walk. This year I am taking on a completely new challenge: the 26.2 mile Northumbria Coastal Challenge, from just north of Bamburgh to Alnmouth. On Monday 2nd May, whatever the weather, I will be donning my boots in an effort to beat last year's fundraising total. That piece of coastline is very exposed and I may well be kippered by Craster, but I will keep walking because the 5,500 people who are diagnosed with myeloma (cancer of the bone marrow) each year are desperately holding on in the hope that a cure will be found before this ghastly disease ends the suffering that they and their families have to endure.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. When you donate, they send your money direct to the charity, saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
