I DID IT!!! As hard as it was, I managed to complete the London Marathon for the first time ever. That is one of my greatest achievements to date. I had a knee injury which caused some distress at mile 7. I stuck it out and got through it.  Thank you to everyone that has sponsored me, it was for a great cause! x

 

Before the Marathon...

Having now run a few 10k’s…26 miles does not even come close.  I applied for the London Marathon after hearing it takes at least 4 attempts until you are selected.  My plan was to train over the next few years making me physically able to glide through it for WHEN I was actually selected.  Well, that ethos went right out the window when I was selected first time round.  On the 22nd of April next year, I will be taking part in one of the worlds most prestigious events... making this is my biggest challenge to date.  

 

Recently, someone very close to me was diagnosed with a syndrome called Prader-Willi Syndrome.  It is a rare, complex genetic disorder, which is present from birth and continues throughout life. By running for the PWSA UK I hope to raise a minimum of £1000 and more importantly awareness for this syndrome. This is the only charity in the whole of the UK that improves the lives of people with PWS and all who are affected or work with them.
