Story

**************UPDATE*******************

Well, we did it :)  Walking time was around the 7 hour mark give or take a minute or two and both of us survived relatively intact apart from some stiff muscles.  It was quite an enjoyable night really, good atmosphere, lots of people enjoying the event and something strangely nice about walking along the coast of the firth or forth at 4am looking at a glorious sunrise!

A big thanks to all who have sponsored us, it is, as always, very much appreciated.  Plans for next year are already being hatched, but we think we might try something other than walking just to keep things interesting ;)

Yes folks, Sisters with Blisters are back for their 2010 challenge! Just to remind you, Donna (big sis!) was treated for breast cancer during 2008 and to celebrate beating the disease and try to give a little something back to the charities that help people deal with it, last year we both successfully completed the 20 mile Ribbon Walk in a time of 7 hours 15 minutes.

Inspired by our success, this year we decided to challenge ourselves a little further. We have signed up for the Moonwalk, which for those who don’t know is a full marathon distance of 26.2 miles, walked in the middle of the night, in our decorated bras, at power walking pace, and we are aiming for a time of under 7 hours which should make us work a little harder!

The Moonwalk raises money for a charity called Walk the Walk who grant their funds to various breast cancer related causes such as the Maggie’s Centre and Breakthrough Breast Cancer. If you’d like to find out any more about either Walk the Walk, or the charities they provide grants to, please look here: http://www.walkthewalk.org/Home.

We would really appreciate any donation you feel you can give, no matter how small. Breast cancer is a disease which unfortunately rising numbers of people are diagnosed with each year, however, thanks to research, decreasing numbers are dying from it, and the work that all these charities do is vital to continue that trend.

Thanks for reading,

Donna & Sheilah.
