<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;">Every year St John Ambulance in the West Midlands sponsors a member of staff at the St John Eye Hospital in Jerusalem. The hospital is the only charitable provider of eye care in the occupied Palestine territory where the rate of blindness is ten times higher than in developed countries. </span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;">From January - March 2012 we are launching a fundraising initiative called By Any Means - in which our volunteers will be aiming to complete 2342 miles, the distance from Birmingham to Jerusalem, by whatever means possible. </span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;">From running to swimming to cycling, even to CPR, our volunteers will be aiming to clock up those miles and at the same time raise vital funds for the St John Eye Hospital.</span></span></p>
